PRESENTATION OF INTERREG MAC PROJECTS IN CAPE VERDE
On 10 and 11 September 2025, a seminar for the presentation of the projects approved in the first call for proposals of the Interreg MAC (Madeira, Azores, Canary Islands) territorial cooperation programme was held in the city of Praia, Cape Verde. The projects are now at the end of their first year of implementation.
The conference was held within the framework of the ATLANTE strategic project, a project to support the governance of the Interreg MAC Programme, one of whose objectives is to boost cooperation between European and African entities in the cooperation area.
Within this framework, the purpose of this conference is to promote the visibility of the Interreg MAC projects approved in the African partner countries, facilitate networking between entities, and seek synergies between projects.
The conference, aimed at presenting the 28 projects approved with partners from Cape Verde within the framework of the 1st call for proposals, was organised in collaboration with the Cape Verdean Secretariat of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation and was attended by the Managing Authority of the Interreg MAC programme, senior officials from the Regional Governments of Madeira, Azores and the Canary Islands, European and Cape Verdean partners in the projects, representatives of the European Union, the Embassies of Portugal and Spain, multilateral organisations and other key players involved in the areas of action of the Interreg MAC 2021-2027 programme.
