COMPASS: Observatory of human mobility between the Canary Islands and Africa

Within the framework of the COMPASS project, several activities related to the migratory phenomenon have been carried out, proposing solutions to challenges that arise at different stages, from the arrival of migrants to their integration into new societies.

On the occasion of International Migrants Day, Casa África launched a campaign in 2025 on social networks giving a voice to the migrants themselves. The objective: to make their stories visible and encourage empathy in the face of the lack of knowledge that often generates rejection.

It also held a meeting of Africa-Spain think tanks on migration; this event was based on the recognition of the need to change the narrative on the migration phenomenon. Using this premise as a framework for dialogue, it brought together experts on migration issues to reflect on the challenges to be overcome in order to strengthen and improve migration governance between Africa and Europe.
