ACUICONECTA y NATUR-EXT - Biotechnological Applications in Aquaculture: Building a Knowledge Bridge Between Europe and West Africa

As part of its visit to Ghana for the official INTERREG MAC programme day, the Canary Islands Institute of Technology (ITC) is organising a technical knowledge exchange day on 25 June with its local partners: the Ghana Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture (MOFAD) and the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). The day will also feature the participation of two researchers from the University of La Laguna (ULL), partners in the ongoing cooperation projects led by the ITC, ACUICONECTA and NATUR-EXT.
The meeting, to be held in Accra, aims to strengthen technical and institutional capacities in strategic areas such as sustainable aquaculture, natural resource use and technology transfer. It is an opportunity to share the progress, preliminary results and common challenges of the ACUICONECTA and NATUR-EXT projects, both led by the ITC and co-financed by the INTERREG MAC 2021-2027 programme.
This technical day also aims to lay the foundations for future lines of collaboration between institutions in the Canary Islands and Ghana, in line with the principles of sustainability, innovation and shared development. Cooperation with organisations such as MOFAD and CSIR reinforces ITC’s commitment to developing solutions tailored to the African context and to exchanging scientific and technological experiences between the Macaronesian and West African regions.
