This intensive workshop offers a critical approach to archival work based on the experience and practices of Black Archives, built upon fragmented memories, omitted presences and narratives that transcend institutional categories.
The workshop will be led by Tania Safura Adam, a journalist, cultural producer and researcher based between Mozambique and Spain.
Through practices ranging from the everyday to the experimental—gesture, orality, the body, listening, and working with institutional and traditional archives—the workshop invites participants to question how public memory is organised and legitimised, and to consider what happens to the experiences and narratives that remain scattered, unclassified or unrecorded.
