On 20 February 2025, in Nouakchott, Mauritania, the presentation day of the projects approved in the 1st call of the Interreg MAC Programme (Madeira, Azores, Canary Islands) 2021-2027 will be held in the framework of the strategic project ATLANTE, approved by the Programme to support and boost cooperation with African partners.
The institutional opening was attended by the President of the Government of the Canary Islands, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain, the Delegate of the European Union and the Minister of Economy and Finance of Mauritania. This will be followed by the Managing Authority of the Programme (Directorate-General for European Affairs), the main beneficiary of the ATLANTE Project (Directorate-General for Relations with Africa) and a representative of the Government of the Azores, as well as representatives of the Government of Mauritania.
The following 9 of the 10 projects with Mauritanian partners will be presented: IDIWATER, CALYPSO, SANIFISH, Blue Supply Chain, Mac Skilling, AFRICANTECH, RESMAC, Bio ECO-TUR and COMPASS. The presentation will be given by representatives of the responsible entities (main partners, from the Canary Islands) together with their Mauritanian partners (Universities, Tourism Offices, Chambers of Commerce, National and Training Institutes, etc.).
