The Energy Saving Certificate System (CAE) is a key instrument for promoting energy efficiency in Spain and represents a significant opportunity for the water sector in the Canary Islands, both technologically and financially.
The CAE is a public initiative that allows the amount of energy saved after implementing energy efficiency measures in facilities and processes to be certified by means of electronic documents. These certificates can be traded, which helps to recover part of the investment made and opens up new avenues of financing for innovations in water infrastructure.
Specifically, in the industrial water cycle, the CAE offers concrete possibilities for modernising equipment, optimising electricity consumption and implementing clean technologies, facilitating the transition to more efficient and sustainable models. Thus, the sector can benefit twice: environmental improvement and access to additional economic resources through the sale of certificates, all under the backing of the national and European regulatory framework.
This conference will explain how the CAE system can be an important financial tool for the industrial water cycle in the Canary Islands, facilitating new investments and improving the sustainability of the sector. It will present the different access methodologies and success stories from the industrial water cycle in the Canary Islands. The implementation of the CAE is generating economic returns by promoting savings and optimising energy resources.
This talk is organised by SPEGC and ITC as part of the IDIWATER project (1/MAC/1/1.1/0022), 85% co-financed by ERDF funds within the Interreg MAC 2021-2027 Programme, and has been organised in collaboration with the Directorate-General for Water and the Directorate-General for Energy of the Government of the Canary Islands.
Managers, officials and technicians involved in the entire water cycle, local councils and island councils; experts and technicians concerned with energy efficiency in the water industry and new professionals with an interest in the subject.
FORMAT: In-person.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: 24 hours before the start date here.
