The Faculty of Pharmacy’s Hall of Degrees at the University of La Laguna will host the launch meeting of the project “Development, Implementation, and Transfer of Detection Technologies for Quality and Safety Markers to Foster Innovation in the Agri-food, Healthcare, and Tourism Sectors in Macaronesia” on February 10 and 11. The project, referred to by its acronym TecnoMac 1/MAC/1/1.1/0111, is co-financed as part of the first call of the INTERREG VI-D Madeira-Azores-Canarias (MAC) 2021-2027 Territorial Cooperation Program under Priority 1, SMART MAC – Enhancing Business Competitiveness through Innovative and Intelligent Economic Transformation.
The launch event will be attended by Antonio Aparicio, Vice Rector for Research and Knowledge Transfer at ULL; Inmaculada González Pérez, Vice Rector for Internationalization and Cooperation at ULL; Luis Padilla Macabeo, Director General of Relations with Africa for the Government of the Canary Islands; and directors from all the entities involved in this project, among other distinguished guests.
The TecnoMac 1/MAC/1/1.1/0111 project aims to implement and transfer detection technologies for quality and safety markers to promote innovation in the agri-food, healthcare, and tourism sectors in Macaronesia. Specifically, the project will train personnel and set up a laboratory in Cape Verde to carry out these activities. This initiative will stimulate the local industrial sector by enabling processes that currently have to be conducted in Portugal to be carried out locally.
During these sessions, the consortium’s partners will hold an initial meeting to present the project’s activities, as well as coordinate and plan the next 18 months of work.
