CETECIMA presents the publication of the Blue Economy Activity Report in the Canary Islands 2024. During the event there will be a presentation of the talk, with the introduction of the director of the RSEAPGC, Mr. Jose Joaquin Diaz de Aguilar; presentation by the president of CETECIMA, Mr. Jose Luis Guersi and Mr. Sebastian Hernandez, director of CETECIMA, on the contents of the new report. Afterwards, a colloquium will be opened with interaction and questions from the attendees.
The objective of the document is to analyze the Blue Economy of the Canary Islands archipelago, through the characterization and quantification of the marine-maritime sectors, as well as their activity indicators, providing a tool for decision making that shows a wide statistical range that can contribute to the formulation of strategies, academic research and, to guide investment and development policies of the blue economy in the region.
As a novelty in this new report, the base of activity indicators is expanded, the estimates of economic impact are improved by including the Gross Value Added (GVA) and its direct, indirect and induced effects, and a broader analysis of the nautical tourism and maritime leisure sector is carried out.
