The objective of these technical workshops in The Gambia is to identify the territorial, technical and training needs associated with the creation of wildlife rescue centres, actively involving local communities in the process. Through a participatory approach, diagnostic activities will be carried out in the field, specialised training will be provided and awareness-raising actions will be targeted at both technical actors and local actors, such as NGOs linked to conservation. These actions seek to strengthen existing capacities, promote social ownership of the project and lay the foundations for a sustainable model of natural heritage conservation.
