Casa África is delighted to present what will be its 12th Film Festival, an event open to the public that showcases the voices of African filmmakers and those from the African diaspora, with the aim of presenting Africa and its people through their own eyes, moving away from the stereotypes perpetuated by the mass media.
In this edition, we will continue to focus on the documentary, fiction and drama genres as tools for raising awareness and bringing about social change, featuring recent works produced in countries such as Morocco, Kenya, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Egypt and Tunisia.
We will explore a range of themes, all of which fall within the framework of Casa África’s Action Plan: migration, sustainable development, social rights, human rights and climate change.
The Casa África Film Festival offers the chance to gain an insight into everyday life in Africa. It is an opportunity to travel without leaving your armchair and to discover cultures that may seem distant to us, yet are not so far away after all.
The 12th Casa África Film Festival is organised in collaboration with the Cinenómada – FCAT programme and will take place from 6 to 8 October 2026 at the Elder Museum of Science and Technology (Parque de Santa Catalina, 35007 Las Palmas de Gran Canaria)
As always, admission is free. Limited seating.
