Free advice on turning ideas into projects in the outermost regions

The European Commission’s advisory tool for the outermost regions offers free, tailored expert support. Its aim is to help organisations in territories such as the Canary Islands, Madeira and the Azores turn their ideas into projects and make better use of funding from the EU and other sources.

Public and private organisations based in an outermost region – such as regional and local authorities, businesses and, in particular, SMEs – are eligible to apply. The Commission will select the most promising projects, which will be supported by local experts.

The services include:

  • Strategic advice and technical assistance.
  • Identifying funding opportunities and preparing project proposals.
  • Training, mentoring and strengthening administrative capacity.
  • Advice on boosting innovation and competitiveness.

Each region has a contact point to provide information and help with preparing the application.

Deadline: until 30 November 2026 at 23:00 Brussels time (22:00 in the Canary Islands and Madeira, and 21:00 in the Azores)

Help shape the future Atlantic maritime and macro-regional strategy

The European Commission has launched a call for evidence to gather views on the future Atlantic Maritime and Macro-regional Strategy. This strategy directly affects the Atlantic area, which includes the Canary Islands, Madeira and the Azores.

The new strategy will build on the Atlantic Maritime Strategy and the Atlantic Action Plan, and will expand cooperation to tackle common territorial and maritime challenges. Its aim is to strengthen resilience, security, sustainability, competitiveness and territorial cohesion, and to improve coordination between policies, programmes and stakeholders.

The following are invited to participate:

  • National, regional and local authorities
  • Programme managing authorities
  • Economic and social stakeholders, and actors in the blue economy
  • Energy and transport operators
  • Research and innovation centres
  • Civil society and the general public

The Commission also encourages international and cross-border organisations involved in Atlantic cooperation to contribute.

Deadline: until 26 November 2026.

Take part via the ‘Have your say’ portal.
