Scope of competence
Nonagon drives tech development and fosters qualified human capital in ICT,as well as in earth, space,and sea monitoring. It promotes synergies in tech transfer, connecting startups, businesses, research institutions, and universities, aligned with the RIS3 Azores strategy. Operating within the quadruple helix model, it bridges the gap between research and industry. It offers innovation support, incubation services, and versatile infrastructure, including a planned FabLab for the maker community
Territorial scope
NONAGON, located in the Azores Autonomous Region, fosters technological innovation and development across the archipelago and beyond. Recognized as a Research and Innovation Valley (RIV) and classified as "Emerging+" by the RII 2023, it supports cross-regional collaboration through initiatives like Interreg MAC. It promotes knowledge transfer, digital transformation, and eco-innovation, aligning with RIS3 Azores priorities: Agriculture, Marine Resources,Tourism,Space and Data Science, and Health
