138 PROJECTS SUBMITTED TO THE 1st CALL FOR PROPOSALS

A total of 138 projects have been submitted to the 1st call for projects under the Interreg MAC programme, requesting more than 341 million euros of ERDF funding (more than 4 times more than the available funding).

A total of 1,402 entities participate in the projects, 924 from the European part of the
cooperation area (MAC) and 478 entities from the 7 African partner countries.

The majority of the 138 projects were submitted under Priority 1 SMART MAC (51%), followed
by Priority 2 GREEN MAC (46%) and finally Priority 4 MOBILITY MAC (4%).

The admissibility criteria of the projects submitted are being analysed. Those that are
admissible will proceed to the evaluation phase and those that do not meet any of the
admissibility conditions will be excluded. The Lead Partners will be informed accordingly.

The Creative Europe programme is the EU’s flagship programme to support the culture and audiovisual sectors. It invests in actions that reinforce cultural diversity and respond to the needs and challenges of the cultural and creative sectors. The programme includes specific provisions for the outermost regions.

This workshop will focus on:
presenting the Creative Europe programme and its specific opportunities for the EU outermost regions
providing recommendations on application procedures

SECOND MEETING OF THE MONITORING COMMITTEE OF THE INTERREG MAC 2021-2027 PROGRAMME HELD

On 22 November 2023, the II Monitoring Committee Meeting of the Interreg MAC 2021-2027 programme was held, chaired by the Managing Authority of the programme, Ms Celia Alberto Pérez, General Director of European Affairs of the Government of the Canary Islands.

The meeting was held in hybrid format, face-to-face and online, and was attended by representatives of the European Commission, the Member States of Spain and Portugal, the regional governments of Madeira, the Azores and the Canary Islands, the Audit Authority, the Certification Authority, the Environmental Authorities, the Economic and Social Committees, as well as the African partner countries of Cape Verde, Ivory Coast, Gambia, Mauritania, Senegal and Sao Tome and Principe.

This Committee discussed all the milestones of the programme carried out since the last meeting of the Committee in November 2022 (approved documentation, call presentation seminars, management software, programme website, etc.), the current status of the 1st call for the submission of projects, concertation between ERDF and NDICI funds, strategic projects, information on the financial management of the programme and the state of play of the MAC Programme 2014-2020.

CHANGES IN THE DOCUMENTATION OF THE 1ST CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

We inform you that there have been some changes in the following documents of the 1st call, published in the section Calls / 1st call:

TERMS OF THE CALL: Small changes have been introduced in the requirements for ERDF partners (no longer "effective seat of management" but "having a permanent seat, office or establishment") and in the requirements for private companies.

METHODOLOGY FOR THE EVALUATION AND SELECTION OF PROJECTS: The admissibility requirements have been modified as now there is no obligation to attach the Letters of Commitment of all participants (it will be required in case of approval of the project).

ELIGIBILITY DATA SHEETS 3 AND 4: ERDF partners will be able to declare at real cost under the heading "Costs for external services and consultancy" the travel and accommodation expenses paid to their partners from African countries. 

GUIDE FOR THE REGISTRATION OF ENTITIES IN e-MAC: 

  • Registration of entities from Third countries (7 African partner countries): only visible to the user who registers the entity.
  • Several levels of registration with the same NIF: only for public entities under public law and for Foundations/NGOs/Non-Profit Associations (case of SPEA/Red Cross, etc., with the same NIF and headquarters in Madeira and Azores).
  • Obligation to attach document(s) of evidence of the registered data: Name of the entity, NIF and legal responsible for the level of registration.

TECHNICAL WORKSHOP ON THE APPLICATION FORM OF e-MAC

We would like to announce that next friday 29th.September there will be a technical online seminar for those interested in submitting projects to the 1st call of the INTERREG MAC 2021-2027 programme.

The aim of the seminar is to present the module APPLICATION FORM of the e-MAC computer system. It is addressed to entities from the three European regions of the programme.

The timetable of the seminar will be from 10:00 to 12:00h approximately (Canary Islands and Madeira time, 1 hour less in Azores).

The deadline for the submission of projects for the 1st call of the INTERREG MAC 2021-2027 programme will be from 2 october to 30 november 2023 (included), by sending the project applications through the e-MAC computer system.

PRESENTATION OF THE REGISTER OF ENTITIES FOR THE PRESENTATION OF PROJECTS

On Thursday 21st September there will be a technical online seminar for those interested in submitting projects to the 1st call of the INTERREG MAC 2021-2027 programme.

The aim of the seminar is to present the module of the e-MAC computer system for the REGISTRATION OF ENTITIES, an essential step for the subsequent correct completion of the application form. It is addressed to entities from the three European regions of the programme.
